We’ve been asked more and more recently to help small business owners with their email marketing. Done right, email marketing is a great tool to add to your marketing arsenal, done badly you risk losing even your best advocate.
We work with different sizes of business and we advise on the best solution for each based on volume, size of list, aims of the business and budgets. We are happy to recommend MailChimp’s free service to those businesses that need it, ok, some may say “But you don’t make any money from that” and we know. It is more important for our clients, or prospective clients, to trust that we have their best interests at the core of what we do for them. We have worked with many different services as required; (free plan) MailChimp for a non-profit Networking Organisation advertising their next event; (paid plan) AWeber with auto responders for a Business Coach providing regular updates to subscribers on training material; (high volume contract) ExactTarget email campaigns and newsletters for a multi-million pound eduction provider. The main themes to all of this is having a well put together email, relevant content to the receiver, sending at a time it is more likely to be opened, and above all – permission to send the email in the first place.
